Ergonomic carrying system for school, travel and hiking. Holds books and laptop computers. Designed by a physical therapist to relieve back and neck pain, improve balance and promote good posture. It allows you to stand, walk, and sit with your spine and head tall and your shoulders relaxed in a healthy "T" posture. These postural habits will contribute to lifelong healthy movement, and a strong skeleton.
Originally designed as a book bag to improve posture in students. Easy access to the side packs is now leading to a following among other groups, including pregnant women and the visually impaired.
Features
- Side bags allow vertical weight loading for balanced upright posture, unlike conventional backpacks which force you to lean forward.
-
Compartments are accessible to each side when you wear the pack.
-
Adjustable padded shoulder straps accommodate different body heights.
-
Adjustable "sit strap" transfers the weight of the bags to your thighs when you sit. The bags remains accessible at your sides even if you choose to remove the shoulder straps when you sit.
-
Lots of pockets to organize your gear.

Comments
- Medical recommendations for maximum safe backpack loads are 10 - 15% of your body weight, less for smaller children. While safe weight carrying limits for the Back-T-Pack design have not been established, it is known that there is less risk of injury from loads when the body is in good posture. Also, there has been a study demonstrating improved posture and reduced pain in students carrying the same weight in the BackTpack compared with a conventional backpack. Read the study ...
- If you have very poor posture, you may initially experience some stretching discomfort as your body responds to the BackTpack strapping system and your postural alignment improves. For example, people with rounded shoulders and a forward head position, may initially experience stretching discomfort in the neck and shoulder areas. Build up your time and load slowly, a little more each day. In time your body will stretch and tone its way to better posture. We recommend the hip-loading accessory strap for those with postural distortion that is not yet fully corrected.
- When properly adjusted you should feel the sternum strap against your breastbone. This is an important postural cue. If you notice the sternum strap floating forward away from your body, either the bag is not adjusted properly or you are falling into an old slumping habit.
